OMFG, I found the holy grail of the blogosphere…

I was reading a post over at Monnie‘s about plagiarizing bloggers and that made me think of one of my all time favorite bloggers, getupgrrl. See, there were a few people who were wholesale plagiarizing getupgrrl and she took down her archives to prevent that from continuing. Sadly, we haven’t heard from getupgrrl since 2005 but I still keep hoping she will show up again. So, I did today what I’ve done many times and I googled her. And, no, getupgrrl isn’t blogging again but I found a cache of a good percentage of her archives. I am so excited, I can read things from my all time favorite blogger, getupgrrl from Chez Miscarriage, again.

Out of respect for her, I will not publish any of her posts here. However, if I know you and trust you, I can give you the link (or a copy of the posts) so you can read her again too.

So…why do people plagiarize blog posts? That seems to defeat the whole idea behind blogging to me. How does one find out they’ve been copied? I can’t imagine how weird and frustrating that would be.

I’ve seen a few posts from Tertia about her blog post thieves- and it boggles my mind. Not even in my most boring moments have I thought of stealing someone else’s story.

So sad that people plagerize other people’s work. Makes you think they have no thoughts of their own.

I remember a similar thing from the previous ICLW…I was reading somebody’s blog and he/she was alerted that her posts were available ditto on another blogger. The biggest thing was that it was not the archives that were getting skimmed, the thief was posting her work almost the same day as the original!!!!

I can’t believe that people will be that stupid or believe that nobody will catch them….
