A Need For Candy

Ever tried to make a cake without a working oven? I have. In fact, I had to do it this week. Yeah, it’s been that kind of week.

  • The bottom element in my oven, the one needed for baking, broke. Not just doesn’t work…no, that would be too easy. It literally, developed a spot that was glowing red hot and it snapped in two there.
  • The radio in my van no longer works. Well, the radio works but it is all staticky. I was getting out of the van with a huge number of bags. One of the bags brushed against the antenna and it snapped off. No antenna, no working radio.
  • My husband is sick. He caught a cold and it progressed into severe bronchitis/borderline walking pneumonia.
  • And, today, I spent multiple hours in the chaotic loudness of Frankie’s Fun Park (think Chuck-E-Cheese on steroids…all the games, mini golf, go-carts, bumper boats, laser tag).

I feel the need for candy, specifically eye candy, to lighten the mood. I’d like to share two of my favorite indulgences with you…Stephen Amell from Arrow and Mischa Collins from Supernatural.  Stephen plays the main character on the show Arrow and his body isn’t just smokin’ hot but it’s strong enough that he does a lot of his own stunts (including the unbelievable salmon ladder in the premiere episode)…

Mischa has been a long time favorite. He plays the angel Castiel on Supernatural. You rarely get to see his abs when he’s acting in this role but, take a look and you’ll probably agree, he is heaven sent…

So, who’s your favorite hottie? Share pictures or links please.

    Hi Kristin,

I work for the Huffington Post’s online show, HuffPost Live, and we are having a discussion on twins today, and how they are becoming quite common. I read an old blog post of yours (on a different website) where you said you had twins through IVF. If this is so, we would love to hear your story!

If you are interested and available, please get back to me ASAP. I can be reached at flavia.casas@huffingtonpost.com, or at (619) 395-2645.

    Thank you!

You okay, hon? Call if you want to talk. I don’t like radio silence from you. I’m a Jewish mother, I worry. xo
