I need help y’all…

This weekend, I made a resolution I need help. I resolved to write something, anything, at least 6 times a week. I really have missed writing and I feel the need to record mt thoughts, ideas, activities, and observations. I honestly don’t have a clue what has kept me away from the keyboard. It’s not like I haven’t had ideas about what to write. I’ve even gone so far as mentally outlining a post. Yet somehow, I still don’t manage to write. I think I need to be held accountable. I just need your help reestablishing the writing habit. So, facebook me, tweet me, or even text me (you can message me and ask for my number…only given out at my discretion) and remind me to write. And, I also firmly resolve to be better about commenting on people’s blogs. I really have been a slacker. Sorry.

Of course, as soon as I made this resolution, I got sick. The kind of sick where all you want to do is sleep. Yet, as a mom, I can’t stop functioning as much as I might want to. It sucks.

DSCN4232 edAbout a week and a half ago, the boys and I went to the Wayne County Fair with my parents, Jennifer,  and my nieces. The older kids went off on their own and Gabe had all four adults at his beck and call. Let me repeat, the older kids went off on their own. How in the hell did they ever get old enough for that? I’ve gotten use to the mustache on Marty’s upper lip and the fact that Joey is creeping closer and closer to my height. But when did my nieces turn into such gorgeous young women?

While we were at the fair, my gorgeous mommy won Gabriel a stuffed animal. She fooled one of those guys who guesses your age. My mommy turned 68 this April and the guy guessed her age as 52! She was so thrilled and she should be. My mommy looks amazing.

This gives me great hope for the future because my mom and I look a lot alike.

I’m thinking about making baskets full of things I’ve made or canned as Christmas presents. I’ve thought about including a few jars of my barbecue sauce, maybe my apple chutney, possibly my peach/mango chutney, and (if it turns out) the homemade cranberry liqueur I am making. Do you think this would be a good present?

Thanks for putting up with the ramblings from my cold induced stupor. I’d love to hear what is going on in your life.

I think the idea of baskets of stuff you’ve made sounds fabulous. I’ve done that before and it always seems like a big hit.
