Day Trips, Excursions, and More

See, I did it. I made it back here two days in a row…well, sort of. See, I wrote this post yesterday and scheduled it to post now because I’m out and about with Gabriel…but, more about that later.

DSCN3387Did y’all have a good time over Spring break? We had a fabulous time. There was lots of lazing around, board games, and other family fun. But, the thing we did that Gabe (and I think Joey) enjoyed the most was our day trip to the NC Museum of Natural Science. We always love visiting that most fabulous museum but this time we saw something extra special. We went to visit the Titanic exhibit. Oh my gosh, it was such an amazing exhibit. On our way into the exhibit, each member of your group was given a fake boarding pass with the real name of a image Titanic passenger on it. After you go through the exhibit, you can find the name of your passenger on a list and find out their ultimate fate (all our people survived). Sadly, I can’t show you pics of the exhibit (you aren’t allowed to take them) but I can tell you how absolutely amazing it was to be able to touch an actual piece of the Titanic hull. Wow, talk about connecting with history.

image As cool as the Titanic exhibit was, We simply couldn’t leave the museum without checking out the snakes and the dinosaur exhibits. It was a fabulous way to spend a dreary, rainy day. I also had to get a picture of my mom and the boys through the megaladon jaw they have on exhibit. It was such a perfect photo opp. I couldn’t not take this picture…image

I also have fabulous pictures from Gabe’s field trip that I help to chaperone, a cautionary tale of Easter disaster (sort of), and the information about Vic’s surgery…all things I was going to mention in this post. However, since 2 out of the 3 of those topics are picture heavy, I’m going to wrap it up now.

I do have one last request of y’all. Wish Gabriel, me, and the rest of the cub scouts good luck. When you read this, we will be well into our camping trip. Nasty weather is predicted for part of Friday but, they say it’s going to move out before we hit the campgrounds on Friday evening. Cross your fingers, say a prayer, do an anti-rain dance, and, hopefully, we will make it through the weekend in one piece and DRY.

Hasta la bye bye and catch you on the flip side.

Hoping you’re having a good weekend with nice weather. I saw the titanic exhibit a few years ago in Las Vegas and it was amazing.
